Internet of Things event was organized by Student Technical Activity Club (STAC) a 2- day workshop about data and information communication between objects which are embedded with sensors, actuators, electronics, software and connectivity.
The 16 hour workshop conducted on 8th – 9th February, 2018 gave knowledge to the students on the topic of Internet of Things which is the upcoming technology. The fundamental theme of the workshop was to teach the participants about the basics idea of Internet of things which included exchanging data and information between objects.
The first day consisted of making the students familiar with the basics of electronic components which are usually used in IoT. Teaching them how to interface with relays and micro controller and exchanging data with servers.
On the second day the participants were shown a basic example of how LDR was used in street lights to save electricity and the data was communicated through a website named Things Speak. The data communicated was shown in a graph format and each data was recorded in a systematic way about the LDR.
